Born to loving parents Rachel and Ofer, Erez was welcomed to the world on June 17th, 1979 in Gvat, Israel.
Erez’s birth was swift and dramatic – arriving to this world with no pulse or breath. Despite this stressful memory haunting him through his childhood and teens, Erez was steadfast, accomplishing milestones alongside his peers, often surpassing them. Erez was regarded as an ambitious perfectionist but maintained his pleasant modest demeanour, always.
Inspired by his work within a technical team, he pursued both a Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and subsequently landed an impressive job within medical treatment development. Erez was involved in creating a one of a kind, visionary machine, which helps in detecting the early stages of colon cancer. He was proud of his visionary work and was dedicated to his job, considering work like a second home.
In 2009, Erez met his beloved wife Ayelet, with whom they welcomed their two darling children. Erez was a proud parent, adjusting to the role of a father with ease and grace, instilling important values such as education, strength and happiness, while always offering unconditional fatherly affection and love. Their home was a gathering place for friends, always open for creating fond memories together.
“Erez” means Cedar in Hebrew. When Erez was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, he took the news with dignity and optimism, continuing to live a full life. Sadly, he lost his long battle with cancer in 2015. As his friends, we knew we had to commemorate our special friend, talented craftsman, engineer and creative soul. We combined different values that remind us of beloved Erez and created Good Cedar Foundation to honour him and to honour others suffering from cancer.
